Black and White Photography : When I fell in love with photography during my time at Moore College of Art, it was black and white photography that I mostly shot for the first years I was a photography student there. I still love the richness of tones and textures it gives to my images. Due to the type of images I shoot alot of times they lend themselves to both color and black and white and the impact is such a different experience.Since going digital after I became sick with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome(look in my self portrait gallery Pin IT Forward Campaign for Complex Regional Pain Syndrome for more information) a whole new world of photography opened up for me. What used to be done standing during rigorous hours of darkroom work could now be done through many available photoshop programs. Although I consider myself a work in progress I am excited at the world that has reopened for me through this medium and am learning new things everyday.. The day I couldn't lift my slr anymore or work in my little darkroom my husband had built for me downstairs because I couldn't stand or maneuver the shaky stairs anymore I really thought my days as a photographer were over. Then for the holidays he bought me a very special present my first digital camera that was extremely light.It is the best present he has ever given me except for his love that still remains number one:)My pictures have become my journal to the things I love and admire,laugh at, wonder at live and breathe another day to live again what a blessing.I truly have the most awesome man beside me, giving me support, and everyday he helps me smile beyond the pain.Thank you for stopping in and viewing my work today. Your Bio

Hi and welcome to the Byrd's Nest.. Take your time and browse through my photographs and enjoy yourself as much as I did taking them. I became interested in photography in 1985 while attending Moore college of Art. I took a basic photography class to fill an elective requirement at the time and fell in love with it and have never looked back. I felt I had no choice but to switch majors from illustration to photography and graduated from moore as a photography major with a minor in illustration. All photographs posted are available for sale as prints and giftware so check out the different options we offer to you the customer at very reasonal prices too!
